Sustainability is the basis of our operations
There is a series of sustainability challenges that are economically, socially and environmentally related to homes and properties. Through our operations, we want to be part of the solution to many of the challenges facing society.
Our sustainability efforts are fully integrated in SBAB’s business plan and way of working. That is why we have five strategic target areas for operations that together contribute to long-term value creation for our customers, our operations, our employees, our owner and for society. These target areas comprise the basis for how we will steer and drive our operations forward in the short and long term to contribute to sustainable societal development.
Our target areas
Long-term value creation
As a state-owned company, we strive for long-term value creation for all of our stakeholders, in line with our owner’s expectations. A long-term approach and staying power are important when we build SBAB now and for the future.
Sustainable society
As a bank and service supplier within housing and household finances we play an important role in society. Our operations affect the housing market, which entails a great responsibility to contribute to increased sustainability.
Satisfied customers
We endeavour to offer products and services that are sustainable for individuals, property companies and tenant-owners’ associations as well as for society at large. We consider satisfied customers who choose to stay with us as the ultimate proof that our offering is relevant for our customers’ needs.
Efficient operations
Efficient operations are a prerequisite for our ability to achieve sustainable operations, and by extension to create value for SBAB, our stakeholders and society in general.
Attractive workplace
We firmly believe that motivated and committed employees are a prerequisite – the very foundation – for our success, competitiveness and long-term value creation.
How we govern our sustainability work
We also have measurable goals we can follow up on for the respective target areas that we call sustainability ambitions. These 21 ambitions are connected to the 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals. The sustainability ambitions comprise the map that shows the path forward to where we want to be in 2025. The ambitions will guide us forward and raise our already ambitious and integrated sustainability work to new levels.
